Obituary

Matthew Blehr, 28 of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Kensington, died tragically as a result of a car accident on Friday, September 17, 2021.

Matthew William Blehr was born on February 17, 1993, to Chad and Stephani (Rosby) Blehr at the Minnewaska District Hospital in Starbuck.  He was their first born and was baptized on April 18, 1993, at the Solem Lutheran Church of rural Kensington and was confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Kensington on April 27, 2008.  Matthew graduated from West Central Area High School on June 3, 2011.  He attended Medical Sales College in Texas for Orthopedic Reconstruction and Trauma and graduated in 2018.

Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.  He had a soft spot for Tom Brady (#12 – The GOAT).  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He loved to play darts and bean bags and was always very competitive.  He liked a nice cold beer.  Matthew had made Sioux Falls his home and enjoyed his job at Heliosmed/Trilliant/DJO selling medical supplies.  That is where he met and fell in love with Lauren Guy and her son Jaxon in March of 2020 (St. Patrick's Day Weekend).  Matthew and Lauren are expecting a baby girl, Ayla Matty Blehr, in February 2022.  Matt had picked the name Ayla and we picked the middle name Matty in honor of Matthew.

Matthew is survived by Lauren Guy, her son Jaxon, and daughter, Ayla Matty Blehr of Sioux Falls, SD; father, Chad Blehr (Jackie Loxtercamp) of Coon Rapids; mother, Stephani Blehr (Bryan Bye) of Hoffman; brother, Nicholas Blehr of Kensington; sister, McKenna Blehr (Charles Grenson) of Kensington; his aunts, Ronda (Chad Simpson) of Kensington; Shana Stevens (Nate Long) of Kensington; Michelle (David Alderink) of Albertville and niece and nephew, Taylor and Cooper Blehr of Hoffman; grandmothers, Vicki Ackerson of Hoffman and Dayle Rosby of Blaine; grandfathers, Jim (Silvia) Rosby of Blaine, Dave Danielowski of Kensington, and Mel Conrad of Kensington; first cousins, Emilee Blehr, Eric Blehr, Ellie Blehr Jaden Stevens, McKaylyn Stevens, Kellan Long and Peyton Alderink.   Matthew is also survived by great aunts and uncles, many cousins and many, many friends.

Matthew was welcomed into heaven by grandfather, Ron Blehr; grandmother, Mary (The General) Conrad.  Matthew came up with “The General” nickname and it stuck.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family.
