Brian Formo, age 56 of Elbow Lake, passed away at Knute-Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, MN on April 22, 2020.
Brian Lee Formo was born on April 29, 1963, in Fergus Falls, MN, the son of Gene and Carole (Christopherson) Formo. He was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church of Elbow Lake. On September 9, 1994, Brian married Julie Snider. To this union two sons were born, Will and Jackson, the pride and joy of Brian’s life.
Brian worked as a union laborer on various construction projects including the science building at UMM and CentraCare Building in St. Cloud, to mention a few. He also drove ready mix truck for Lampy Ready Mix, ran equipment for Elbow Lake Fertilizer Plant and recently Barrett Farm Supply. Brian was no stranger to work and was talented in many areas.
He also loved ice fishing, coming up with ideas and building fish houses, which led to winning the ultimate fish house contest with his dad. Brian had a passion for old cars, and a love for music, which led to his playing the guitar. He loved playing pool, cribbage, and many card games. He cherished spending time with his family and friends and was loved by many.
Brian is survived by his two sons, Will Formo of Minneapolis, and Jackson Formo of Lowry; his mother, Carole Formo of Barrett; sister, Tammy (Rick) Lock of Barrett; one aunt, Clarice Gutliph of Southport, FL; one uncle, John Hovland of Dalton, MN; and by nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Gene Formo, grandparents, Clifford and Gladys Formo, and Alvin and Edna Christopherson.
Due to the pandemic, a private family service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 8, 2020 at Erickson-Smith Funeral Home, in Elbow Lake. A live stream of the service will be available on Brian's memorial page on www.EricksonSmithFH.com. Interment will be held at Zion Cemetery.
