Taylor Mattson, 16 died Thursday, April 22, 2021, as a result of a car accident.
Taylor Anne Mattson was born on October 23, 2004, in Alexandria, Minnesota, the daughter of Matthew and Kerri (Langland) Mattson. She was baptized in First Lutheran Church in Kensington and confirmed in the Kensington Covenant Church. Taylor lived with her family on their farm by Kensington.
Taylor attended the West Central Area South Elementary School in Kensington, and then the West Central Area School in Barrett, where she was in the tenth grade. Taylor was very active with school activities. She worked at Main Street Athletics in Hoffman and Crossroads in Kensington.
She belonged to Ben Wade Blazers 4-H Club, was WCA Football and Boys Basketball Manager, WCA Track Athlete, FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America), Main Street Athletics Athlete and Coach, and was a Kensington Covenant Church Sunday School Helper. Taylor enjoyed crafting, was a DIY girl, was an organizer and decorator. She liked being with friends, showing cattle, and playing with her dog Max. She had a strong faith and loved spending time with her family.
Taylor is survived by her parents, Matthew and Kerri; brothers, Zachary and Austin; grandparents, Rodger and Patty Mattson and Cindy Langland; and by numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Langland.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Kensington Covenant Church in Kensington.
Visitation: Friday from 3 to 8 PM, at Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman, and will resume one hour prior at the church.
Taylor’s funeral service will be livestreamed at www.EricksonSmithFH.com. Those that are unable to attend the funeral are welcome to join everyone at Matt & Kerri’s home on Saturday afternoon for further fellowship.
