Sandra Bah

February 11, 1949 — July 26, 2023

Elbow Lake

Sandy Bah, 74 of Elbow Lake died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Sandy was born on February 11, 1949, to parents Melvin and Violet Bugher in Wheaton, MN. She graduated from Wheaton High School and went on to attend beauty school in Wadena, MN. She then met Bradley Bah and they were married on October 16, 1971. They had three children: Michael, Michelle, and Daniel. When Brad was in the military, they had the opportunity to live in various places, including Germany. Sandra worked as a beautician until her and Brad moved to Elbow Lake, where they took over the M&W Grocery Store in 1981. After retirement, Sandy took on the job of ‘grandma’. She babysat her own grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several other children in the area.

Sandy loved a lot of things. She loved her family above all else. She also loved good music, her flowers, and her garden. She loved the MN Vikings, her word finds, and lifetime movies. She could be seen walking around her yard doing chores, sitting on her deck enjoying a cup of coffee or a ‘big fat’ Pepsi, attending a street dance, or traveling around to a number of family events. Her favorite memories in recent years were a trip to Europe when her granddaughter was studying there, and a road trip with Michelle and Shawna that included Graceland (for her favorite artist, Elvis), Nashville, and a Vikings game to see her ‘boys’ play.  No matter where you found Sandy, you’d see her daughter Michelle right by her side. She was known as “Grandma Sandy” or “Ma Bah” by many because she treated everyone like they were family.

Sandy is survived by her children, Michael Bah in Elbow Lake, Michelle (Eric) Jenson in Barrett, and Daniel (April) Bah in Fargo, as well as her brother Bob (Kris) Bugher; her grandchildren Shawna (Jason) Dusek, and Blake (Aria Braun) Jenson and Isabella and Brayden Logan; her great grandchildren Hadley and Jackson Dusek, and Sophia Jenson-Braun; her brother and sister-in-law Dennis (Mary Jane) Bah, Marlene (Chuck) Schrum, and Steve Ginsbach, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Bah, her parents Melvin and Violet Bugher, her sister Sheryl Ginsbach, her mother and father-in-law Wallace and Marie Bah, and her nephew Ryan Ginsbach.

Funeral to be held 1:00 PM, Monday, July 31, 2023, at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. A visitation will begin at the church at 11:00 AM.
