Patricia Ann Nelson, 86, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Evansville Care Center.

 

Patricia Ann (Pat) was born on November 26, 1937, in Alexandria, Minnesota, as the daughter of Walter and Alma Wittnebel. Growing up in the town of Evansville, Minnesota. 

 

Pat met the love of her life Wayne Nelson through a blind date that was set up by their friend Carol. Pat and Wayne were united in marriage on January 2, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville. This union was blessed with four children: Wayne Alan, Brenda, Kevin, and David.


After receiving a technical degree, she worked for attorneys, accountants, and as a manufacturing inspector.


While her children were growing up, Pat was active in her church playing the piano and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.


Pat is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne; her parents, Walter and Alma; stepmother Bernice; brother, Tom; grandsons, Derek and Chris Nelson; and great-grandson Tenny Little.


She is survived by her children, Wayne Alan (Cheryl), Brenda (Justin) Mallmann, Kevin (Lois), David (Gina); brother, Greg Wittnebel; sister, Nancy (Paul) Pedersen; sister-in-law, Dotty (Carly) DeClercq; and 9 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.


A Celebration of Life Open House will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, from 2-5 PM at Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman, MN.


A Private Family Burial for Pat and her husband Wayne will be held at a later date at Lincoln Cemetery.
