Martha Moeller, 95 of Elbow Lake died Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Martha Mae was born November 8, 1928, to Frank and Agnes (Polensky) Powlish in Dickinson, North Dakota. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1946. On September 14, 1957, Martha married Loran (Archie) Moeller at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Dumont, Minnesota.
Before marrying Archie, Martha worked as a waitress out on the east coast and in Graceville, Minnesota. Upon marriage, they made their home in Elbow Lake in 1957. Since Archie already owned and operated the Elbow Lake Bakery, Martha worked part time in the bakery before the birth of their four children. She was a stay-at-home mom until their last child graduated from high school. Then she returned working full time at the bakery.
Upon retirement, she cherished the time with her children’s families, especially the grandchildren. She enjoyed the different casinos and attending class reunions. Later in their life, she and Archie had great joy playing cards with their card playing friends. September 14 of 2023, Archie and Martha celebrated sixty-six years of a happy and blessed marriage.
Martha is survived by her husband Archie of 66 years; children Blair (Sandy) of Andover, MN, Kerry of Champlain, MN, Todd (Deb) of Fargo, ND, and Darcy (Blake) Taft of Moorhead, MN; seven grandchildren Angie Schaefer, Abbey (Jason) Ebner, Jake Moeller, Tess (Brandon) Wall, Megan Moeller and her significant other (Luke), Lindsey (Bryan) Marjama-Taft and Zach Taft; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, mother & father-in-law, and all three of her siblings and their spouses.
