Elbow Lake

Lyle Huseth, 86 of Elbow Lake passed away on January 14, 2025, at Ashby Assisted Living Center.

Lyle was born to Burnell and Elizabeth (Biss) Huseth. He attended Country School, then continued his education, graduating from Elbow High School. He served with the US Army, and following his Honorable Discharge he began grain farming on the family farm.

On September 12, 1959, Lyle was united in marriage to Janice Vaa at the West Elbow Lake Lutheran Church, and to this union three sons were born. They enjoyed spending their winters in Florida, and later in Arizona. Lyle and Janice enjoyed traveling together to Norway four times, Alaska, Hawaii, and the west coast. They also enjoyed traveling more locally in their pickup camper during the summer months.

He enjoyed fishing and trapping. He especially enjoyed hunting deer and ducks. Lyle liked gardening, fruit trees and yard work. He put in a lot of hours on the “mule”, with the back full of lawn tools and saws, always looking for a branch to trim. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved to tease.

Lyle is survived by two sons, Mark Huseth and Scott (LaVonne) Huseth; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Dennis) Jacobson; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Judy) Vaa and Bob Winther; and by numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnell and Elizabeth Huseth; wife, Janice in 2021, and son, Bruce Huseth in 2012.
