Lorraine A. Olson, 95, of Barrett, formerly of Hoffman, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at the Barrett Care Center. Lorraine Adeline Nessman was born on February 4, 1920 in Solem Township, Minnesota, the daughter of John Swan and Emma (Peterson) Nessman on the family farm. She was baptized and confirmed at Wennersborg Church. She attended country school and Kensington Public Schools through the eighth grade. On September 25, 1937, Lorraine and Carl Olson were married at Hoffman, Minnesota.
They farmed for forty-two years in Nora Township. Carl passed away in 1980 and she moved to Kensington and later to Hoffman and Barrett. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Maxine (Frank) Stevens of Kensington; three grandsons, Jordan (Luann), Lonnie (Susan), and Michael (Cyndi; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Melissa (Carl), Brandon, LeeAnn, Travis, Tinika, Demetrius, and Waylon; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; two sons, Van and Robin; her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
