April 20, 1936 — September 19, 2021

Wendell

Lorn A. Schneeberger, 85, a resident of rural Wendell, MN died Sunday, September 19th, 2021.

Lorn Albert Schneeberger was born on April 20th, 1936 in his childhood home near Barrett, MN to Lester and Anna (Urban) Schneeberger. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1954. He enlisted in the US Army in June 1955. He honorably served in the Military until March 1957.

On June 1st,1957 he was united in marriage to his High School sweetheart, Kathryn (Kitty) Rustand at United Methodist Church in Norcross, MN. They celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary this past June. They lived on a farm outside Barrett where he farmed before moving to the Rustand Family Homestead in January 1961 in North Ottawa Township outside Wendell, MN where they raised three children. He spent the rest of his life on this farm. Through the years he raised livestock, many crops and was involved with seed sales. He truly loved farming and retired about 15 years ago, however, he remained involved with the fieldwork up until his death.

He was very involved in the community. He served on numerous boards including Christ Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau, Lutheran Laymen’s League, Grant County Republican Committee and Carl A Hanson Legion Post 321. He loved music and sang with the Barbershop Chorus, Schneeberger Quartet and Church Choir. He and Kitty loved life and really enjoyed traveling and spending part of the winters in Arizona. He also loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He never wanted to miss any activity they were involved in including kids, Grandkids and Great Grandkids. He always had a joke to tell even if he didn’t know you, was very charitable and would do anything for anyone.

Lorn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kitty and their 3 children, Larry (Patty) Schneeberger of Elbow Lake, David (Shawn) Schneeberger of Fergus Falls and Karen (Scott) Dey of Gilbert, AZ; Eight grandchildren, Trevor Schneeberger (Susan Wellendorf), Dustin (Iris) Schneeberger, Jordan (Amy) Schneeberger, Krisann (Nevada) Miller, Eric (Karma) Schneeberger, Matthew (Becca Hussong) Schneeberger, Kimberly (Mike) Heywood and Kaylee (Colin Devary) Dey and Ten Great Grandchildren, Wessen, Addy, Tucker, Jackson, Jaelynn, Alexis, Kendal, Harper, Max and Gage; Brother, Eldrin (Sonja) Schneeberger; several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
