Lois Jeanette Mickelsen, 88, of Elbow Lake, Minnesota went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 4:22 am at Maplewood Manor.
Lois was born July 9, 1937, to Victor and Ethel (Robertson) Manlove in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Maurice Mickelsen at First Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake on October 29, 1955, and together they were blessed with seven children.
Lois was active in her community and church, living a life of faithful service to the Lord. Known for her infectious smile and kind words, she was eager to share her faith with others. Above all, she enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and found great joy in getting lost in a good book from her local library.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children; David Mickelsen and his wife Carla of Huntsville, Alabama, Maureen Hebrink of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Judy Leonard and her husband Toby of Mankato, Minnesota, Becky Romero and her husband Daniel of Hereford, Texas, Paul Mickelsen and his wife Noelle of Elbow Lake, Minnesota and Karen Kautzman of Hannaford, North Dakota. Daughter in love Kirsten Parrish (widow of son Victor). Grandchildren Mary Coule, John Mickelsen, and Sally Rose Bonniville, Holly Flemming and Anna Spencer, Benjamin, Jessica, and Samiel Romero, Kyle Mickelsen, Emily Vieth, and Hunter Mickelsen, Brennan and Ethan Mickelsen, Cole, Lane, Levi, and Rori Kautzman and 15 great grandchildren. One brother Victor Manlove of Warren, Rhode Island.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Ethel Manlove; her husband, Maurice Mickelsen; her brothers, Leroy Manlove and David Manlove; and her son Victor Mickelsen.
Visitation will be held at Erickson-Smith Funeral Home Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 5-7PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30PM. Her Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, 10:30 a.m. at Grace Free Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake with Pastor Daniel Romero officiating.
Interment at Ness Cemetery, Elbow Lake.
The family has decided the undesignated memorials will be donated to the Ness Cemetery.
Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Erickson-Smith Funeral Home of Elbow Lake.
