LeRoy Wesley Stark, age 86, of Kensington, MN, went home to be with Jesus after living a full and faithful life on January 26, 2026. LeRoy was born on December 20,1939, in Morris, MN to Robert and Lillian (Jesness) Stark of Kensington, MN. He was baptized at home and confirmed at Aeneas Lutheran Church. For the first seven years of schooling, LeRoy attended rural school District 34, a one room schoolhouse near the farm. LeRoy graduated from West Central Agriculture School in 1958 and continued his education by graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Agriculture in 1962. LeRoy was a member of the North Dakota Air National Guard from 1962-1968. He worked at the Federal Land Bank from 1963-1967 and spent the rest of his career farming on his childhood farm until 80 years of age. The Stark farm raised hogs, sheep and grain.
LeRoy’s passions in life were faith, family and farming. LeRoy served on the church council, taught Sunday School and sang in the church choirs at both Aeneas and Messiah. He was also active in the men’s bible study and Stephen ministry at Messiah. LeRoy also served on the Cenex Co-op Association for 30 years. LeRoy's greatest joy was his family and loved to be called Dad and Grandpa. His wife of 42 years, his darling Charleen, who he met at the University of Minnesota was the love of his life. LeRoy and Charleen were married on June 28, 1964, in rural Lester Prairie, MN at the Scandia church. They celebrated their reception at the Halvorson farm where Charleen grew up. Although Charleen left his life too soon in 2006, we know that she is celebrating his arrival at their heavenly home with Jesus.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lillian, stepmother Linda, wife Charleen, sisters Janet Halvorson and Phyllis Ede, brother-in-law Clinton Halvorson and grandson Payton. LeRoy is survived by his children Chris (Milissa), Curt (Heidi) and Connie (Tony); grandchildren Paige, Abby, Drew, Megan, Sam and Cora; brother in laws Gary Halvorson (Cindi), John Halvorson, Bob Ede and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
