LeRoy Bah

LeRoy Arthur Bah, 86, of rural Elbow Lake, died Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Evansville Care Campus.

LeRoy was born on the family farm on November 24, 1933, near Erdahl, MN, the son of Leonard and Alice (Balgaard) Bah.  He attended country school through the eighth grade, and graduated high school with the Evansville class of 1952, then returned to the family farm.  LeRoy served in the United States Army in Korea, working in the radio and intelligence area.  Following his honorable discharge, he resumed his life’s work in agriculture.

On September 6, 1958, LeRoy married Janice Hultander in Elbow Lake, and they were blessed with three children.

Over the years, LeRoy had many hobbies.  In 1977, he took up the hobby of ham radio (N0̸ENQ) and was a member of Lake Region Amateur Radio Club for over 40 years.  LeRoy was proud to have talked to thousands of people in numerous countries.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Janice; three children, Carren Bah of Elbow Lake, Sherry Bah of Mankato, MN, and Michael (Amy) Bah of Round Lake, MN; two grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Bah of Round Lake, MN; a sister, JoAnn Kvistero of Detroit Lakes; and sisters-in-law, Betty Allen of Fargo, ND and Ione (Dale) Olson of Buffalo, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to LeRoy’s parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Bill Allen and Orlan Kvistero.

Funeral Service: 2 PM Friday, June 19, 2020, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.  For those unable to attend, a live stream of LeRoy’s service will be available on his memorial page at www.EricksonSmithFH.com.
