Kimiko Rugroden

Kimiko Rugroden, 87, of Elbow Lake, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake. She was born on March 24, 1927, in Formosa, Taiwan. She met and married Leslie "Bud" Rugroden of Elbow Lake while he was serving in the US Army and stationed in Japan. They raised four children, John, Cindy, Deb and Gary. Kimiko was devoted to her family. She had many talents including working on numerous crafts that she shared with her family, gardening and cooking. Her family especially loved her traditional Japanese meals, as well as her Norwegian krumkake and rosettes during Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband Leslie "Bud" Rugroden, and one granddaughter, Natasha Davis. Kimiko is survived by her four children, John (Sally) Rugroden of Blaine, Cindy Holte of Fergus Falls, Deb (Ted) Anderson of Billings, MT, and Gary Rugroden of Elbow Lake; eight grandchildren, Naomi, Brent, Kimberly (Jeff), Paige (Trevor) Donny, Steven, Jeana and Rick; four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Asia, Ryan and Jonathan.
