Juanita "Edie" Jacobson, 78, formerly of Elbow Lake, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Barrett Care Center. A private graveside service was held Friday, January 17, 2014, at Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake. Edie was born on April 23, 1935, in Roseburg, Oregon, to George and Doris (Rice) Householder. She grew up in Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg High School on June 1, 1954. In the early 1960's, Edie moved to Barrett and eventually to Elbow Lake where she worked for many years as a waitress. On May 22, 1971, she was united in marriage to David Jacobson at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake, and the couple made their home in Elbow Lake. Edie enjoyed playing bingo, baking, crocheting, and visiting with people. She always had a joke to share with anyone who would listen. In September 2013, Edie became a permanent resident of the Barrett Care Center. Survivors include her husband David Jacobson of Elbow Lake; sons Tim (Lisa) Johanson of Beulah, North Dakota, Sam Johanson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mickey (Kathy) Johanson of Minot, North Dakota, and Bill Jacobson of Elbow Lake; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenny Household of Hawaii and Bill (Brenda) Householder of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward Householder and Harold Householder; and one son, Leroy Johanson.
