Jessica Hanson

Jessica Hanson, 24, Minneapolis, formerly of Hoffman, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Jessica Rose Hanson was born in Alexandria on May 15, 1989, to Jerome and Natalie (Haust) Hanson of Hoffman. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman and graduated from West Central Area High School in 2007 where she participated in choir, band, jazz band, and softball. Jessica continued her education at the Alexandria Technical College obtaining an Associates' Degree in Communication Art and Design. Following her education, Jessica set out seeking adventure and moved to Minneapolis to pursue a job in photography and took a position with Lifetouch Portrait Studios. She was most recently working as a server at Republic in Uptown. Jessica was an independent and fearless soul and was not afraid to try new things. She was energized by living the "Uptown" life and meeting people. She had a zest for life and loved to travel, most recently to California. She was a gifted writer and a passionate photographer; she designed the signature logo for the city of Hoffman, which appears on the water tower. She loved to cook and wanted to teach the homeless how to plant and grow their own organic foods. Jessica loved her family and their family gatherings. Jessica is survived by her parents Jerome and Natalie Hanson, her sister Amanda (special friend Travis Weigand) and her brother Hunter, all of Hoffman; her grandparents Pat and Armin Haust of Faribault and Rose Marie Hanson of Alexandria; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; her special friend Justin Beckman of Minneapolis, and countless other friends whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Louis Hanson, and most recently her great-grandmother Esther Haust, and numerous other great-grandparents.
