Jerry Schmall

Jerry Lynne Schmall, 84, passed away on June 22, 2026, in Barrett, MN.

Born on January 3, 1942, in Elbow Lake MN, Jerry was born to Henry and Gladys Schmall. After graduating from Elbow Lake High School, he served in the Army for 31 months, then worked as a farmer, welder/machinist and truck driver. He married Audrey Orstad in 1966, and together they raised a family on a small farm near Erdahl.

As a father, Jerry was quiet but firm. He taught his children to work hard and be honest.

Jerry loved hunting and fishing. He was also known as the Blacksmith.

He leaves behind his wife Audrey; children Sam Schmall, Amy Ross, Sara Gamez, Grant Schmall and April Bell; grandchildren Hannah Tobin, Rachyl Schmall, Austyn Schmall, Hayley Schmall, Logan Schmall, Kara Schmall and TaLeah Ross; great grandchildren Cven, Neal, Verily and Evolet Tobin; and sister Janice Erickson. He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Gladys Schmall and daughter Katie Anne Schmall.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
