Jerome Ralph (Jerry) Williams, age 88 of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of the Farwell/Kensington area, passed away November 15, 2015 in Kearney, NE.
Jerome was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 25, 1927 to Frank and Pauline (Hipp) Williams. Jerome was a graduate of Alexandria High School and the Dunwoody Institute. He served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt as a boiler operator from 1950 to 1954. Jerry then began a career as a drywall contractor, a career that spanned more than 50 years. He married Lois I. Palmer on February 20, 1960 in Minneapolis, MN. To this union, two children were born, Marie and Timothy. Lois passed away on May 14, 1997. Survivors include his children, Marie (Tommy) Tucker of Hancock, MN and Timothy (Lisa) Williams of Kearney, NE; six grandchildren, Amie (Justin) Mackowick, Melissa Baker, Shannon (Aaron) Grzadzieleski, Joshua Tucker, Alexander and Kelsey Williams; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Chase, Savanna, Tristan, Shealyn, Caleb and Kolby; brothers and sisters, Robert (Mary) Williams, Redding, CA; Eugene Williams, Bloomington, MN; Helen Sirba, Bloomington, MN; Audrie Kraemer, Alexandria, MN and Richard Williams, Edina, MN.
Jerome was preceded in death by his wife Lois; his parents; sister, Marjorie and her husband Robert Spurgin; brothers -in-law, Norbert Sirba, Ralph Kraemer and Richard Aaberg; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Williams, Alma Williams and Donna Aaberg. Mass of Christian Burial: 1 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church in Kensington, MN. Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM at the church, with a rosary beginning at 11:30 AM.
