Jeanne Marts

b. November 17, 1982

Hoffman

Jeanne Marts, 42, of Hoffman, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, surrounded by her family under the care of Vivie Hospice.

Jeanne Anne Winter was born on November 17, 1982, to Scott and Nancy (Will) Winter in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman. Jeanne graduated from West Central High School in 2001 and went on for two more years at Alexandria Tech for finance. While in high school, she played flute in the band, worked at the Barrett Inn, and helped on the farm. Jeanne loved being at the farm. She helped milk cows and feed the calves. Jeanne even had a cow (Waldo) she put on a leash and would take for walks.

On September 23, 2006, Jeanne was united in marriage to Bruce Marts at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman. The couple would make their home in Hoffman as well. In July of 2020, the couple would be blessed with their “miracle boy” being as that doctors told them that they were unable to conceive. Brandon became the light of his parent’s life.

For 13 years, Jeanne was the Kitchen Manager at the Dew Drop Inn in Hoffman. Later when the building was sold to Casey’s General Store, she became the assistant manager for the next 8 years. Jeanne was a baker and enjoyed making bars and cookies, but she was known for her macaroni salad that she made while at the Dew Drop Inn.

Jeanne and Bruce both shared a love of the spooky season, and operated a “Haunted Shop” for a few years before their son was born. She is an avid collector of Stephen King novels, but they have to be in hard back only, and some have been hard to find. She and Bruce would go to the North Shore in Duluth every year on their anniversary. Their goal was to see all the waterfalls. They would also go with relatives to the “UP” (Upper Peninsula) for a week’s long snowmobiling trip. Her vivacious spirit will be truly missed.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Bruce; son, Brandon; mother, Nancy; brother, Chris (Heather); nieces & nephews, and Aunt Sharon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Scott Winter; both sets of grandparents; two paternal uncles, and two maternal uncles and one aunt.
