Howard Anderson

Howard E Anderson, age 83, slept away peacefully in his sleep on February 2, 2024. 

Howard Elmer Anderson was born on September 13, 1940, to Herman and Emma Vigdahl Anderson in Starbuck, Minnesota. Howard joined two brothers, Sidney and Lyle. Howard was raised by his mother’s sister and her husband Erick and Myrtle Hagberg as his mother, Emma passed away shortly after he was born.

He grew up on Erick and Myrtle’s farm all his life, farming and milking cows. He enjoyed working with the livestock. His favorite hobbies were guns and hunting, which he was taught by his father, Herman. Howard spent many hours and days hunting and target shooting with his dad and bothers. Guns and hunting were his favorite pastime until his passing.  

He is survived by his daughter Karen, granddaughter Alyssa and her husband James, and his three great-grandsons Alexx, Theo, and Milo. Also surviving Howard is his brother Lyle Anderson and his daughter Nancy and her husband Jeff Miller, along with multiple family and friends.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Emma, brother Sidney, godparents Myrtle and Erick, and wife Barb. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Hoffman with visitation starting at 12 noon until the time of the service.
