Harold Gene Erickson, of Elbow Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 6, 2026, at The Meadows Senior Living. Harold was born on April 4, 1939, in Alexandria, MN. He graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1957. He proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Nereus off the coast of San Diego. After six active years of service, Harold enlisted in the US Navy Reserve and served in locations such as Portugal, Spain and Italy. Harold lived in Minneapolis before moving to Wyoming, MN, where he spent much of his life. He wintered in Florida for several years and he returned home to Elbow Lake in his later years to be closer to family.
Harold was a skilled machinist at Control Data for many years. Once Control Data closed, he went on to work at Arden Fabrication until his retirement.
Harold was a proud member of the Osman and Zuhrah Shriners Cycle Corps riding his custom Harley Davidson motorcycles in parades. He loved his Harley Davidsons and took many trips on them including Alaska, California, and New York. Harold treasured his family time on Crane Lake near Battle Lake, MN. Harold was also a devoted member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
Harold is survived by his siblings, Harvey (Dianne) Erickson of Battle Lake, MN; Edythe Senensky of Palm Harbor, FL; and Ruth Ann (Kenneth) Hubbard of Elbow Lake, MN. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews including Jay (Jimmie) Senensky, Dale (Nadia) Senensky, Dawn Senensky, Dan (Carol) Erickson, Mike (Kris) Erickson, Lynn (Patrick) McGuire, Eric (Deidre) Hubbard, and Kendra (Brent) Apelt along with 19 great nieces and nephews. His life was also enriched by a host of friends and shipmates.
Harold was greeted in heaven by his parents, Raymond and Harriet (Larson) Erickson, brother, Orville Wayne Erickson, and brother-in-law, Arnie Senensky along with many other family members and friends.
