Eldorise Bye

Eldorise “Toots” Bye, 92, of Hoffman, Minnesota, passed away Sunday June 5, 2022, at Bethany on the Lake Senior Care in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Eldorise Maryann was born on March 12, 1930, to parents J.W. and Veronica Reed in Grove Lake Township, Minnesota. She attended the local country school before attending Glenwood School. In 1947, Eldorise and Gordon Roy Bye were united in marriage. They bought their farm in Swan Lake Township and had four children: Dennis, Brad, Randy, and Cindy. She and Gordon retired off the farm in 1984, when they moved to Hoffman, Minnesota, where Eldorise took up a retirement job of being a janitor. In 2014, Eldorise moved into assisted living in Hoffman before moving to Bethany on the Lake Senior Care Center in Alexandria.

Eldorise was lovingly called “Toots” by everyone she knew. She enjoyed flowers, horseback riding, camping, and spending time at the lake. She also loved her Dog Mitsy, her guinea pigs Pepe and Kiki, and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Eldorise is survived by her children; Dennis (LeAnn) Bye, Brad (Lora Lemieux) Bye, Randy (Deb) Bye, Cindy (Ron) Rice; daughters-in-law Connie Bye and Shelly Sprouls, son-in-law Tony Bredy; grandkids Andrew (Sarah Spalding) Bye, Bryan (Stephanie Blehr) Bye, Jennifer (Jason) Ebocher, Jessica (Chris) Lia, Brandy (Tony) Schmidt, Cassandra (Dave) Weierke, Derek (Angela Lee) Bredy; great grandkids Jaycee, Dayton, Ben, Kaylee, Brianna, Braden, Olivia, Jayden, Britta; nieces and nephews; and many friends. And an extra special friend, Beverly Toso. We’ll dance again one day.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon Bye; parents J.W. and Veronica Reed; brothers Harold, Howard, Herbie; sisters Fern, Hazel, Esther, Ruby, Mabel; two infant sisters Veronica and Ruth; and parents-in-law Rudolph and Ellen Bye.
