DiAnn Nord

DiAnn Nord, age 87, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Vivie Care Center in Alexandria, MN.

DiAnn Renee (Rassat) Nord was born on February 4, 1939, to Oscar (Bud) and Marguerite Rassat of Nelson, MN. In 1957, she graduated from Alexandria Central High School, then began working for Alexandria Radio and TV.

On January 12, 1963, DiAnn was united in marriage to Bernard Nord at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN, this union was blessed with four children. Together, DiAnn and Bernard ran the Nord Variety Store in Hoffman.

When their youngest son started school in 1979, DiAnn began working at the Hoffman Nursing Home as a CNA where she worked for seventeen years before retiring. Following retirement DiAnn had more time to do the activities she liked: baking, reading, and meeting the gals for coffee. She loved traveling with Bernie in their motorhome, which included several trips to Arizona to visit their daughter. They also relished summer days at their lake cabin on Elk Lake.

After Bernie’s passing in 2021, DiAnn moved to Grand Arbor in Alexandria. She enjoyed meeting new friends, going down for breakfast, and Friday night’s happy hours.

On July 12, 2026, under the care Vivie Hospice, DiAnn passed away at the age of eighty-seven years.

DiAnn is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, son Jeff, siblings Thelma, Delores, Debbie, and Tony.

She is survived by her daughters Vicki Johnson of Hoffman, and Penni (Steve) Parshall of Lowry, MN, and son Tim Nord of New Hope, MN; four grandchildren Jesse Roth, Shanda Roth, Tracy (Kayla) Johnson, and Cody Johnson; great grandchildren; and her sister Linda Nelson of Oakdale, MN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman with visitation starting at 9:00 AM.
