Carroll Berskow

Carroll E. Berskow, 81, a resident of Elbow Lake, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Barrett Care Center. Carroll Eloyd Berskow, was born on March 6, 1930, in Fergus Falls, MN to Carlos and Elvira (Lee) Berskow. He was baptized and confirmed in the Erdahl Lutheran Church, and attended country school in Erdahl. After school, Carroll farmed with his family. In 1951, he entered the US Navy. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Elbow Lake and worked at an area service station.
On July 8, 1956, Carroll married Eunice Bergan in Elbow Lake. This union was blessed with one daughter. In 1958, Carroll went to work as a mechanic in the Ford garage until 1969, at which time he went to work for the Grant County Highway Department. Carroll retired December 1, 1991. After retiring, Carroll focused on his yard and garden, both of which he took excellent care of. Carroll was a member of the American Legion. Carroll is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (Chris) Melveney; his granddaughter, Emily; a sister, Dorothy Christianson; two brothers, Glen Berskow and Alton (Agnes) Berskow; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Elvira Berskow; his wife, Eunice; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Christianson Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Muriel Bergan) Berskow and Corrine (Bergan) Behrens.
