Jean "Carolyn" Anderson of Elbow Lake MN was called to her heavenly home on Thursday evening, March 2, 2023, surrounded by her daughters.

Carolyn was born in New Ulm, MN on November 12, 1940, during the Armistice Day Blizzard to Marvin and Grace (Juhnke) Gerth.  She grew up on the Gerth family farm near Sanborn MN and later they moved to Westbrook MN.  Her family moved to Elbow Lake when she was 11 years old.   

She graduated from Elbow Lake High School. On January 14, 1961, she married Stuart Anderson and they had four daughters, Karen, Kayla, Kim and Katie.

Carolyn worked at a variety of jobs including Mendelson Egg Co and later at her favorite job of being a taxi driver and part-time care giver to many of her grandchildren.

She enjoyed spending time at the lake cabin, she was often found sitting by the window with a baby in her arms.  She loved going on day trips which included the casino and attending activities of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolyn shared her love for Elvis Presley with her grandchildren with "Teddy Bear" being the biggest hit.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family.  After the death of her beloved Stuart, she found she enjoyed traveling.  Trips included Nashville with all her daughters and Las Vegas.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Karen (Gary) Huebner, Kayla (Dennis Goerdt) Anderson, Kimberly (David) Nohre and Kathleen (Travis Nyreen) Anderson. 

 Her grandchildren Brent (Jackie) Huebner, Laura (Peter) Nelson, Lydia (Steve Lertiz) Anderson, Matthew (Amy) Anderson, Sarah (Joey) Lohse, Lisa (Chris) Seefeldt, Annabelle Haarstad, Jeremiah Haarstad and Benjamin Nyreen. 

Her great-grandchildren Braeden, Zachary & Brekk Huebner, Kensley, Hadley & Callen Nelson, Haley Riley, Jaece & Suhvunnah Anderson, Kira & Kaleb Lohse and Lucas & Connor Seefeldt.

Meeting Carolyn at heaven's gates was her husband, Stuart Anderson, sister, LaRae Lee and great-grandson, Henry Anderson.

Per her wishes, the family will have a private memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Grant County Humane Society.
