Billie White, 70, of Hoffman, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Douglas County Hospital. Billie Rae Ambro was born on September 1, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Leonard and Jessie (Watkins) Ambro. Billie married Robert McBride and they were blessed with three children. Early in life, Billie worked as a homemaker and later for Lockheed in the area of printing blueprints. Billie also worked side-by-side with her husband Robert in his sheet metal shop. In 1980, Billie met Jack White in St. Louis, Missouri. The couple was married on July 17, 1980 in Carson City Nevada. Since Jack was a career military man, the couple was assigned to the Canal zone, Panama, shortly after they married. A Short time later, Jack retired and in 1982, they moved to Hoffman. Billie worked as a hotel housekeeper in Morris for a time and then as a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family while Jack was on the road. Billie was an immaculate housekeeper and took great pride in her family, her home and her appearance. She enjoyed the simple things in life - sitting outside and evening outings included. Billie and Jack were members of the New Testament Church in Alexandria, where she came to know the Lord. She was especially fond of the friendships made at church and valued those relationships. Billie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jack, of Hoffman; daughters, Donna Huehl of Alexandria and Debra Plante of North Hollywood, California; son, Robert (Shelly) McBride of Alexandria; brother, John (Beverly) Ambro of Barrett; stepdaughters, Nora Sanabria of Bismarck, ND and Carmen (Jim) Ianora of New Paltz, New York; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Billie is preceded in death by an infant sibling. Memorial Service: 1 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at New Testament Church in Alexandria.
