Bernice (Jenson) Kjesbo, 87, formerly of Elbow Lake, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Alexandria. Funeral services for Bernice Kjesbo will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at United Lutheran Church, Elbow Lake, with the Rev. Bob Toso officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at church. Bernice was born in Hoffman, Minnesota, on February 16, 1925, to Otto and Sophie (Froelich) Fritz. She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman and attended school in the Barrett and Hoffman areas. She was united in marriage to Leonard Jenson on November 8, 1942, and they raised four children. The couple farmed near Barrett until 1971 when they moved to Elbow Lake. Leonard passed away on October 31, 1977. Bernice and Norman Kjesbo were married on September 28, 1979, and they made their home in Elbow Lake. Norman passed away on October 23, 2001. She was an active member with the ULCW, the VFW Auxiliary Post 5039, and active in the Senior Center. Bernice enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Bernice moved to Alexandria in 2005, were she remained until her death on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living. She is survived by her children Linda (Butch) Folken of Elbow Lake, Denice (Tom) Larson of Alexandria, Curt (Lisa) Jenson of Ostego, and Kyle (Janet) Jenson of Monticello; one brother, Dale (Pat) Fritz of Washington, Illinois; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include step-children Noel (Mary Ellen) Kjesbo, Lee (Carol) Kjesbo and Dean (Kari) Kjesbo, and several step-grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Leonard Jenson and Norman Kjesbo; one grandson, Ryan Jenson; two sisters and their husbands, Helen (Adrian) Raatz and Lillie (Edwin) Johnson; one brother and his wife, Marvin (Lolly) Fritz; and one sister-in-law, Kathleen Fritz.
