Arlean Mounts

September 30, 1930 — June 5, 2022

Montevideo, formerly of Elbow Lake

Arlean Magdalena (Langmaack) Bevins-Mounts was born September 30, 1930, in Pomme De Terre Township, to Henry & Christina (Kastner) Langmaack. She graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1948 and was united in marriage to Alvin A. Bevins, in June of 1948. They lived in Detroit Lakes, MN and then North Dakota for a short time and then moved back to Elbow Lake. They were blessed with 3 children. Arlean was married again in the fall of 1986, to Robert L. Mounts and was blessed with 3 step-sons. They also resided in Elbow Lake and wintered in Texas.

Arlean had many job titles in her life. She and her husband, Al, owned Rowdys Lunch and Glends Bar. She was a waitress and did babysitting at her house. She and her husband, Bob, owned a greenhouse. Arlean was a much loved and stern school bus driver for 39 years.

She shared her love of flowers with all her kids. She also had a passion for butterflies and birds. Arlean had a knack for cooking, baking and especially crafting. She tried every craft that caught her eye. She also loved reading and watching gameshows, old and new. Arlean was a card game aficionado and an avid Bunko player. She also loved board games of all sorts.  Another hobby that she absolutely loved, that would upset her if interrupted, was watching or listening to the Twins games. She loved her Twins and loved sharing that passion with numerous family members. She also loved going to as many of her Grandkids and Great-Grandkids’ sporting events and numerous other school activities, as she could.  She loved all of her Grand, Great-Grand and Great-Great-Grandchildren and adored being included and able to attend as many monumental, big or small, events in their lives. Arlean had great aim, when it came to ‘those damn flies’ and would always have her swatter in hand while enjoying the outdoors (and indoors!) and would always have a pile of dead flies at her feet. You better watch out, if you were sitting next to her, and a fly landed on you… she’d swat you! Sometimes without warning. She was the most loving and caring person that had time for everyone.

Arlean, (formerly of Elbow Lake, MN) resided in Montevideo, MN, with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. She passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at her home, at the age of 91.
