Rollin Soderholm

Rollin Soderholm, 87 of Alexandria died Monday, January 9, 2017, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Rollin John Soderholm was born on October 8, 1929, in Baraboo, Wisconsin the son of Harvey and Luella (Auslund) Soderholm. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Rollin attended the Hoffman Public School, the Morris Ag School for two years and then graduated from the Hoffman High School in 1947.
Rollin and Donna Wallace were married on March 29, 1947, in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. After their marriage they worked and lived a short time with Rollin's parents and a short time with Donna's parents. In March of 1950, they purchased a farm by Hoffman. Rollin dairy farmed and was involved in the livestock business most of his life. Rollin and Donna were blessed with four children, Cindy, Mark, Steve and Shelly. He enjoyed horses, all sports and his family. Rollin especially enjoyed his grandchildren who he taught to drive by age ten, and great-grandchildren which affectionately knew him as "Silly Pa".
In 1987, Rollin and Donna moved to Alexandria, retirement was not for him, because cattle were still in his blood. His faith and daily devotions were an everyday event for him. The last few years Rollin was having health problems and a hard time getting around, but loved having friends and family for coffee. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of almost seventy years; three children, Cindy (Allen) Carlsen, Steve (Judy) Soderholm and Shelly (Tom) Beaulieu all of Alexandria; daughter-in-law, Cindy Soderholm of Plymouth; twelve grandchildren, Bradley Carlsen, Robert Carlsen, Angie Nelson, Michelle (Charlie) Romans, Danielle Soderholm, James (Kari) Soderholm, Jessica (Shawn) Bouldin, Michael (Ella) Soderholm, Johnathan (Jessica) Harstad, Megan (Brandt) Kuehl, Brittany Beaulieu and Adam Beaulieu; twenty great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carol Domke of Alexandria, Douglas Soderholm of Grand Coulley, Washington and John (Sue) Soderholm of Willmar; and by numerous relatives and friends. Rollin was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Luella Soderholm and by one son, Mark Soderholm.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman.
Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service
