Margaret Eblen

Margaret Eblen, 84, of Hoffman, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Margaret Marie Eblen was born on September 7, 1932 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Rasmussen) Eblen. She attended country school near Hancock and Hoffman through the eighth grade. Margaret worked on the family farm for a number of years, later working as a nurses aide in Morris and Hoffman. After retiring, Margaret continued to work part-time at the Hoffman nursing home.

In her earlier years, Margaret enjoyed riding horse and was involved with Lake Region Saddle Club in Alexandria. She played the accordion, going to area dances to listen to the family dance band, and enjoyed reading. Margaret was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she frequently helped in the kitchen for church events.

Margaret is survived by four siblings, John (Marie) Eblen of Morris, Dorothy (Marvin) Pillish of Roselle, Illinois, Gene (Eunice) Eblen of Barrett, and Gracie Lewis of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by three brothers, Delbert, Daniel, and Emmet; a sister, Joyce; and an infant brother, Orville.

Visitation: 5 - 7 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorial Service: 11 AM Friday, July 7, 2017, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman

Clergy: Reverend Nathan Thompson

Interment: Benson City Cemetery, Benson, Minnesota
